2301A

The Woodward 2301 Electronic Control is an analogue proportional system of engine control. Early models were built in modules and installed on system assemblies. The system could feature load sharing, process control, temperature compensation and many other parameters.

The 2301A controls the speed or load of diesel or gas engines, steam or gas turbines. It is an improvement on the 2301 in that it isolates the power supply and enhances features of earlier controls and is available for forward or reverse-acting applications and can be used with single or tandem actuators.

There are low voltage (10-40Vdc) and two high voltage models (88-132Vac & 90-150Vdc).

2301D

The Woodward 2301D is a digital version of the 2301A that provides load sharing and speed control of generators being driven by diesel, generator pump or gas engines.

The configuration software incorporated in 2301D hardware facilitates the selection of variations of the application by external computer.

The main advantage of this control is the added functionality that comes in one package in addition to:

• Multiple dynamics
• Manifold pressure fuel limiter
• Torque limiter
• Low speed sensing function for slow speed prime movers
• Remote speed and load reference
• Soft load transfer
• Automatic idle to rated speed switch
• Selectable for forward or reverse acting and speed ranges
• Modbus serial communications.

723

The Woodward 723 Digital Control can be programmed to suit applications requiring two magnetic pickups or proximity switches as the hardware includes two speed inputs. It also includes four analogue inputs, three analogue outputs, eight discrete inputs and three discrete outputs, all of which can be programmed to satisfy the application.

The control can be used in load sharing systems

The 723 control requires the following power supply input voltages, with 40 watts as the nominal power consumption at rated voltage:

• 18–40 Vdc (24 or 32 Vdc nominal)—low voltage controls
• 90–150 Vdc (125 Vdc nominal)—high voltage controls

RE Governors

The most common RE governors we work on are the RE 1100 series 2G 3G & 4G – designed for general purpose governing. The available work output for the 1100 series ranges from 8 to 40 ft-lb. They also have options for droop adjustment, fuel limitation, load control and torque control.

Speed setting options consist of:

• Lever speed control
• Motorised speed control
• Pneumatic speed control
• Stepper motor speed control
• Synchronous motor speed control
• Stepper motor speed control (with R.V.D.T)
• Pneumatic speed setting with hydraulic load control values (for adjustable droop load control governors)

The RE 400 series

Hydraulic isochronous governor with work capacity range from 9 to 37 ft-lb. Speed setting options consist of either motorised speed control or dial speed control.

The RE 1500 series

Designed specifically for high power, medium speed and large bore slow speed diesel engines. Maximum work capacity is up to 250 ft-lb. Droop adjustment. Speed setting options consist of synchronising motor, pneumatic and lever.
We can also accommodate earlier governors such as the 100, 300, 600 and 700.
