Highlights from October 2012

Month overview
October 2012 has been a busy month, we have despatched some large spares orders, gained new customers from Greece and the UK, Overhauled a considerable amount of governors and provided another successful training course for a UK Oil company.

Service
Completed commissioning of a Woodward 505E Control for a District Heating Company. They now have the facility for automatic hot and cold staring – synchronising and overspeed protection.

Our Service Manager Steve has been onboard the RFA Black Rover and completed a successful sea trials, commissioning the overhaul of main engine governor. The vessel sailed from Liverpool to Loch Striven.

Spares
This month we have despatched one of our largest spares orders to the middle east. The $70,000 order consisted of just over 1000 items and was all hand picked and packed by our store man Ian. It weighed in at a massive 61kg.

Overhauls
Our workshop technicians have been working together to overhaul a very old English Electric Governor received from a Railway preservation company. This rare governor was over 40 years old and is currently being fitted back to its class 37 locomotive.

Training
Another successful training course carried out by our instructor Ivor for engineers from a UK Oil Refinery. This course was tailored to suit their pacific requirements consisting of theory and practical lessons on Woodward TG and PG-PL governors. Excellent feedback received!

Other news
We have had our yearly quality audit inspection, with a positive outcome given by the assessor from NQA. We have now received our updated certificate which we hold for ISO 9001:2008

Our company accountant Holly will be leaving us this week, we all wish her the best of luck in her future career.
We also welcome Jessica to the EGS team, she will be taking over from Holly in our accounts department.
